Adam Wainwright’s “Big League Impact” Turns the Water on in Honduras

December 2, 2014

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher and 2014 20-Game Winner Adam Wainwright has been pouring more than just his fastball over the plate. He and his wife Jenny have started Big League Impact, a charity Fantasy Football League, that allows fans to connect and play Fantasy Football with their favorite players. The funds raised support the local infrastructure (Food, Shelter) in each participating town and provide water-treatment systems in Honduras.

Their efforts in 2013 turned into $60,000 for Water Missions International in Honduras.

This year, he has added Marshall Falk and Kurt Warner to his St. Louis team and has spread out to six cities including New York, Atlanta, and Detroit. His dream is to see all 30 MLB teams participating. The simple math on that could mean $1.8M for Water Missions International. Now that’s a lot of clean water in Honduras.

In the video below, you’ll see some of the people impacted by Adam and Jenny’s mission to Honduras. Great job Wainos!
